INNOVATE4CITIES CONFERENCE FEATURING ASIA PACIFIC SESSIONS HOSTED BY EAROPH

A Message from the EAROPH organisers for the Asia Pacific sessions during I4C:

We thank you for your recent participation at the EAROPH International webinar ‘What does climate justice look like’, held on Friday 24 September 2021.

As a follow-on to this webinar, we would like to invite you to the UN Climate Change Innovate for Cities (I4C) Conference, from 11 – 14 October 2021 and then onwards to the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26) in November.

EAROPH is facilitating the Asia Pacific Sessions in the I4C Conference, from 12 – 14 October 2021.

The Innovative4Cities (I4C) Conference 2021 will be an international gathering at the nexus of cities, climate change science and innovation. This groundbreaking meeting will be co-hosted by UN-Habitat and the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM) and the Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC).

Together, the EAROPH Climate Change subcommittee and EAROPH Australia Chapter are one of the regional curators of the Innovative 4 Cities (I4C) Conference 2021 to facilitate the Asia Pacific sessions.

The Asia Pacific sessions will bring together traditional owners and islanders from the Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Australia and New Zealand, and youth and leading professionals from Japan, Malaysia, Australia and Indonesia. In this event, we come together in solidarity as one voice to mitigate climate change and in solidarity with people who need it the most.

We hope you will join us for this important event to give voice to vulnerable communities threatened by the impacts of climate change. Session outcomes will feed into the Conference of the Parties (COP) 26 in Glasgow, 31 Oct – 12 Nov 2021.

We would like to share with you the five sessions and speakers who will be sharing their experiences and insights as voices from Asia Pacific communities who will be adversely impacted by climate change.
